iA Writer Pro Help
Save a document
iA Writer Pro automatically saves your documents as you work, even if you haven’t saved them with a filename yet.
- To save a document:

- In iA Writer Pro, choose File ➤ Save….
- Select the save location, name your document, then click Save.
- To save a document in iCloud:

If you save to iCloud, it stores your documents and makes them available on all your devices. iA Writer Pro preselects the document’s current Workflow folder as the save location.
- Make sure iCloud Documents & Data is On, then:
- For Mac OS X 10.8+:
- Choose File ➤ Save….
- Click iCloud in the top left corner of the Save dialog, name your document, then click Save.
- For Mac OS X 10.7:
- Choose File ➤ Save…, and save the document on your computer.
- Choose File ➤ iCloud… ➤ Move to iCloud.
- To rename and save a copy of the document:

- In iA Writer Pro, choose File ➤ Duplicate.
- Choose File ➤ Save….
- Name your document, select the save location, then click Save.
iA Writer Pro saves your document as a plain text file using UTF-8 encoding. The file extension used depends on the document’s Workflow state:
